The Greatest vs The Man of Steel

I began this painting some time in 2011  and did not complete it until Fall of 2017, if memory serves me correctly. I dreamt of one day presenting it to Mr. Ali upon completion, and maybe getting his signature.

He passed away before I was anywhere near a finished product, so I became determined to get my art into the Muhammad Ali Center/Museum. It had to do his legacy justice. Otherwise, it would never see the light of day.

After four different iterations, I finally created this. It combines all of my finest skills and techniques. It is, the most complete piece of art that I have ever made.

I used carpentry, pour painting, acrylics, oils, digital painting, pen and ink, alcohol markers, traditional and many unorthodox techniques.

This piece was accepted into the Muhammad Ali Center's permanent collection in the Fall of 2017 just as the winter was beginning. I am blessed to have created something that will surely outlive me, and will potentially be seen by millions of eyes and time moves forward. He inspired me and I hope to inspire someone to dream big, because anything is truly possible, if you are willing to put in the time and effort to achieve your goals.
